your child are invited to join Ziggy the space alien on a learning adventure
full of art and fun!
Ziggy’s
Arts Adventure is a live-action puppet series for children ages 7-12
produced by Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB). Set in a Louisiana
junkyard arts center, the series follows 9-year-old Ziggy as he discovers ways
to express himself and connect with others through the arts.
In each
episode, Ziggy and friends explore arts like painting, dance, or theater, and
learn ways the arts benefit our communities and everyone who lives
there. Real world experiences with guest artists help Ziggy understand how
different arts are made while showing how to make friends with anyone in the
universe.
Each
episode also features trips to places where the arts happen in your community,
interviews with talented kid artists who share their work with you, and
do-it-yourself art activities your child can do at home.
Printable
arts activities for each episode are also available for download on this
website.
Like the
show, Ziggy activities support a deeper understanding of important arts
concepts and help kids practice creative and critical thinking skills.
