Welcome
to Ziggy’s Arts Adventure, an arts education series for children
ages 7-12 produced by Louisiana Public Broadcasting (LPB).
Less
than 15 minutes long, episodes are designed to be learning resources. In each
episode, Ziggy and friends define a different Concept of the Day then
explore it through the arts. Guest artists visit Ziggy in each episode to
demonstrate an art form in action, and help him understand these important concepts.
Each
episode also features the segment Great
Minds Think. This gives young viewers a peek inside Ziggy’s brain to see
his Critical Thinking and Creative Thinking work together to solve
problems or answer questions. Based on research by Harvard’s Project Zero, this
sock puppet short within the episode shows students different ways of thinking.

Ziggy’s Arts Adventure is meant to be shown as part of a larger learning experience
about art, culture, or real challenges in the arts world. Scenes can be shown
by themselves as an explanation or demonstration of arts concepts, techniques,
and forms.
Printable
arts activities for each episode are also available for download on this
website.
All Ziggy art activities support a deeper
understanding of specific national arts standards. For more information about
